google transit!

google just keeps coming up with cool stuff! they are working on public transportation planners. this is very similar to chicago's trip planner as it looks for public transportation options and then tells you the times of departure and arrival. the google version goes a bit beyond that in that you can tell it what time you want to arrive at your destination plus, even better, a map accompanies the results!! that is so cool! that is the one thing that i have always thought was missing from chicago's trip planner 'cause when i am not familiar with the area i am travelling to, i love to have the area street names so i can make sure i can get to my destination even if i miss my stop or make a wrong turn (and y'all know that happens to me all the time!). another cool thing is that it can also calculate cost of driving vs public transportation!

* Seattle, Washington
* Tampa, Florida
