O Mattress, Mattress! Wherefore art thou Mattress?
Long time no entry!
Russ and I have our first guitar lesson tonight with a guitar teacher called Danny who says Richie Sambora was one of his inspirations for picking up a guitar - suits us! Danny's house is being renovated so the lesson will take place at mine - luckily Denise won't be home till late because of a meeting in Birmingham - her ears will be saved!

The new lounge carpet will be delivered and fitted this Friday, the same day my car goes in for it's service which just happens to be Denise's birthday too - we'll make it good once the boring stuff is out the way. Speaking of house stuff, our mattress died last week, this is what has happened since…
This past weekend was the first nice weather we've had in ages so after staying in all day Saturday we made the most of Sunday and had a long walk round the lake in St Albans which was broken up by a fantastic Tapas lunch in a great Spanish restaurant called Dalis - I took some photos and they can be seen here: clickety click. The title track to Bon Jovi's new album, Lost Highway, is the theme song for WWE's Great American Bash on July 22nd - never expected that, just a pity they aren't playing live, the show could do with some star power!

Lastly but by far not least - congratulations to 2 very special friends who will be getting married - yay!

- Thursday: Ordered mattress for Saturday delivery, paid £30 premium the pleasure!
- Saturday: Waited for mattress which hadn't turned up by 1.15pm (they say their couriers deliver between 8am and 1pm) - I phoned and they said to call back at 3pm if still not arrived as probably just late. 3pm - still no mattress so I called back and they apologised and said management would call on Monday.
- Monday: No phone call by midday so I called - mattress was out of stock and they tried to call me on Friday but got no answer. They wouldn't get an answer as I gave them my home number as I was at home on Saturday, you know, waiting for the mattress! Anyway, the mattress was out of stock so they said they'd deliver an alternative today.
- Tuesday/Today: No mattress by 1pm so phoned again. They said they are running late and it'll be here by 4pm at the latest. It's 3.50pm - still no mattress. I'll give it till 4.30pm and then ring again - stupid stupid company, but very good prices :/
