What in the hell was she thinking? I mean, I'm all for getting the enemy drunk to get information out of them, but was that the plan? No. She went out and got potential alcohol poisoning with Ryan to thank him. Thank him for what? The Powers sent her the vision about the urn, not that we found anything out about it before I-- Dammit. Wes is gonna ( Read more... )

Mel rolls her eyes and runs down the stairs about to answer the phone when it goes straight to the messenger service. She sighs and sits herself down on the counter, listening to the message...

"Yo, it's Gunn, y'all. I know there's probably some freaky-ass mess you're dealin' with, and this is gonna rank up there with it, 'cause y'all probably think I'm dead and I ain't. Though I might be, if these lawyers--"

The phone goes dead. Mel looks up, a frown on her face. "Didn't ya'll say Gunn was dead?" She called to Angel.

At Melaka's shout, Angel starts down the stairs. "He was dead, he's apparently not anymore. Cordy had a vision, that's why we raided Wolfram and Hart...why?" She's holding the phone, looking confused. "Well, who was it?"

Angel's chest tightened. That was exactly what Cordy had been freaking out about after her first vision, but they hadn't found any torture chamber during the visit to Wolfram and Hart. He reached for the phone, only to hear the dial tone. "I don't understand, was he just on the phone? Can we get him back on the line?"

She walked into the office, catching the last bit of the conversation. "What're you talking about?" Cordy asked, arching an eyebrow.

"Forehead boy seems ta think I know how ta work a phone," Mel said, the hint of a smirk on her face before she reached for the reciever and set it down, she hit the message button and let it play again.

"Yo, it's Gunn, y'all. I know there's probably some freaky-ass mess you're dealin' with, and this is gonna rank up there with it, 'cause y'all probably think I'm dead and I ain't. Though I might be, if these lawyers--"

The phone cuts out, followed by a few beeps and then silence. "Mayhap ya'll shouldda gotten more than an urn from your visit?"

"I was really just hoping, seeing as I suck at working it," Angel said defensively, and then went silent as the message played, then was ominously interrupted.

He glanced at Cordy. "Sounds like maybe it's getting closer to whatever you saw in your vision." Dammit, Gunn hadn't given them a clue where he was.

"I've got muffins! Hot out of the ovens...Did you know you have a huge kitchen downstairs?"
Andrew became aware of the tension in the room he had just entered.
"Oookkaayyy.... I'll just leave these here then." It was time for a stratigic withdrawl. "Don't want the next batch to burn...."

The color drained out of Cordy's face when she heard the message. She whirled around and strode to the weapons cabinet. "We're not leaving to go get him right now why?" she asked, wondering why they weren't gone already. She looked at them when no one moved right away. "Need an invitation or something? We knew who had him, and he said the lawyers...let's go! Come on!"

Melaka got up off the counter and walked over to Andrew, she patted him on the head and smiled slightly before joining Cordelia at the weapons cabinet. Collecting her favourite antiques, "hate ta say it, but doncha think they might've, I dunno, say... stepped up the security some since our las' visit?"

"That's where I come in," A familiar voice called from the main entrance. There stood Kennedy, bruised from her fight earlier with Faith but still standing. A single bag slung over her shoulder and the cast now long gone from her left arm. "Who better to help you than someone who worked there?"
