Bam’s mind was racing.
It was one of those times where he had done something without thinking much on it and was starting to feel the weight of his actions a moment too late. Ville and he were now on their way to the castle, leaving imprints of their footsteps behind in the night. An awkward silence hung in the air between them. His thoughts were racing through his head as the two sides fought for dominance. Bam gulped. Sure, the older man was homeless. He was doing the right thing, right? But then again this was a stranger that he met in an old abandoned house. It was a stranger that he was bringing back to his home in the middle of the night. The brunette risked a glance at the figure trailing close behind him. Ville stumbled a bit, tripping over his own feet then quickly catching himself.
Well, he didn’t look too frightening.
In fact, he looked just as awkward as Bam felt. The vampire chewed on his lip, lost in thought. He didn’t know either if it was the greatest idea after all. He did want to get closer to the kid though. Ville wanted normal, and right now he was being led into an actual home where regular people stayed and did daily run of the mill things. It sounded wonderful.
Dead or not, he wanted it. He wanted it bad.
The vampire looked up and met Bam Margera’s awkward glance with a crooked smile. The teenager’s breath hitched in his throat a little because the smile looked almost endearing. He convinced himself that he was doing the right thing. After all, his parents were home if there were to be any trouble. If the homeless guy decided to take anything, well, he was pretty well off anyways. Money wasn’t really an issue. Maybe if (or when) his parents found out he would be approved of instead of grounded for once.
Or maybe not.
Reaching the house Bam decided to stop outside one of the side windows that he knew he had opened earlier that day. It was in the kitchen and he’d been attempting to cook something while his mom was at one of her book reading meetings, or whatever it was called. The teenager didn’t really understand why she’d want to read a book then discuss it; he had enough trouble doing that in class. But be as it may, she was gone and he had burned a precooked pizza. His laziness to completely shut a window was working out to his advantage in this case. The thought made Bam smirk to himself.
“Okay, uhm, we’ll just sneak in through here. Don’t make a sound til’ we get to my room. Okay?” he whispered, looking at Ville with wide eyes. The man nodded and fidgeted a bit. He was nervous. Bam popped the screen out of the window and went in first, using his arms to balance himself then kicking his feet over one leg at a time before standing up silently.
“Your turn.”
He watched as the raven haired man clumsily pulled himself up and went over the other side. Half of his face collided with the floor and the rest of his body followed after. It looked like it really hurt, and in Bam’s defence he had attempted to make his face look sympathetic instead of laughing. It wasn’t much use though; trying to be serious in the moment wasn’t helping at all. The teenager received a glare from the older man who was rubbing his face and sitting on the floor. After a moment he smiled and closed his eyes, hand on his forehead. It was hard not to find the situation amusing with Bam shaking with silent laughter like that.
Once the kid could compose himself he lifted the screen and put it haphazardly back into place, closing the window afterwards. Now that they were inside they just had to make it into his room without tripping over anything. Bam realized that it sounded a lot easier than it was done, especially with such a clumsy visitor. “Here, grab my hand.” He replied in the dark of the living room. He was sure that if he could see Ville would be looking at him in confusion and possibly disgust. “I don’t want you to trip over anything and wake up my parents.” He explained as the man shakily took his hand. Geeze, you would’ve thought that he was breaking into someone’s house with his girlfriend or something. Bam tried not to think so much about it as they carefully stepped through the house and made it to the stairs. It felt like they had been in the dark together for an eternity. “I think... It’s the stair after this one that creeks so step over it.”
Ville cussed in Finnish quietly as he bumped his shin, needing his ‘host’ to help him from falling on his face once again. Bam rolled his eyes as they got to the top. After that it was easier to follow the hallway into his room by dragging a hand along the wall. Finally they were inside.
Turning the light on and carefully shutting the door behind them, the brunette let out a sigh of relief. “Thank god.” He mumbled. He motioned for the stranger to sit down as he did. “I’m sorry we had to sneak like that, but Ape would flip if I came home so late, or early or whatever.” Ville nodded like he understood when really he didn’t know the repercussions of coming home late.
Bam kicked his shoes off awkwardly and watched his visitor look about the room. The green eyes stared at the collection of band posters on the wall and noted the pile of laundry in the corner-he would be making a pile of laundry just like it once he got home. The bed was bigger than the one he had, and the curtains were left open like usual. A computer desk sat across from them, the screen saver was some guy on a board like the one his little obsession had. “Can I see?” Bam nodded. “Sure, go ahead. I’ll be right back.” He watched as the door opened and shut before sitting down on the comfortable looking chair. Ville put his hand on the mouse and clicked on random files. He was never good at technology... He was also surprised that there was more than pornography on the box.
When Bam returned with an armful of blankets from the storage closet he was amused to see Ville playing mindsweeper.
“How do you do this?”
“No one knows.” Bam answered truthfully, adding a mysterious note to his voice. He dropped the blankets on the bed and began messily folding them in half and throwing them on the floor. “I can sleep down here tonight, I don’t mind. I’ll lock my door so Ape doesn’t come in wondering what the fuck.” Ville nodded and closed the game. Even though sleep wasn’t necessary, it did help ease the need for blood by at least a few more hours. Bam bit his lip and tried to make himself look busier by adjusting and readjusting the blankets. “In the morning I’ll explain to my parents, or not. But we’ll get you some food and figure shit out then.”
“Thank you.” The vampire said quietly. He knew that the teenager wouldn’t know exactly what he was thanking him for, not completely.
“No problem.” Bam answered back awkwardly. “You can wear some of my pyjamas, uhm, they’re not really your size though...” he rifled through a drawer and brought out some plaid pants and a t shirt. They changed in silence, Ville pulling on the bottoms and seeing how noticeably taller he was. The brunette turned off the lights and put on the lava lamp on his bedside table. It made the room glow blue as the two settled in under their covers. Despite the random turn of events Bam found himself exhausted and glad to be inside his warm home. “Sorry, for you know, making you hold my hand like a fag.” He mumbled, drifting off into sleep. The vampire didn’t know how to respond; instead letting his newfound friends light snores fill the room.
