mini cherry culture haul!

Apr 16, 2009 23:14

Cherry culture was having a 20% off about 2-3 weeks ago and i finally decided to get the few items ive been wanting to get for a while now! Shipping was usd9.95 for orders within usd50 so it was quite reasonable imo!

Tocks and my items. Quite little when you look at it laid out like that eh?

From left to right:
Milk, yoghurt, yellow, lemon, purple, gold and slate.

I had yoghurt and yellow previously but thought to include it anyway.

Milk's good for lighter colours and showing the true colour of e/s in general. I'm quite tan so i got this as a base for the matt light colours i use but dont show up light enough on me. I tried it the other day and it works! This colour will have to be blended really well or the slightest bit of bumps etc will show up underneath the light coloured e/s!

Lemon will be a really good base for juxt (MAC), it reminded me of the colour straightaway!

Purple is freakinnn gorgeous, it has this slight duochrome- blue/ purple, kinda like cornflower (MAC)!

I swear gold is an almost exact replica for penny, except the tiniest bit darker as i can recall. This colour reminds me of amber lights (MAC)!

Slate is a dark grey with slight blue undertones, great for a smokey eye.

Overall, the three colours i like the most now are purple, gold and slate- colours are amazing. These jumbo eyeshadows are quite a good buy i think, they cost a fraction of the price of MAC's shadesticks plus have really good colour payoff. The colour you see is truly the colour you get. They are creamier though so a base like MAC's paintpot (works the best for me) is definitely necessary while the shadesticks do not require a base.

From left to right:
Iris, lousiana, femme, sunflower- the last 2 might be mixed up cuz i uncapped everything at the same time without looking at the cap beforehand -_-" Any of you girls have any idea which is which?

Iris is supposed to be a dupe for lollipop loving, from what i swatched previously, i would say that they are rather similar with the same coral pink colour. The colour is relatively light on me though, my lips are rather pigmented so i would think that a base underneath the lipstick will be good for helping the true colour show up.

These colours are really pigmented, more than i remembered and when i applied sunflower this morning, i freaked out and thought i looked like i was from the 60s or something!

From left to right:
Circe, iris, lousiana, femme, sunflower, hebe.

Hope these swatches have helped!

Also, ill be really busy from now on cuz my exams are in 3 weeks!! OMG its really scaring me actually! I'll still be updating, just not as often as before. Don't forget about me though yeah! :D

swatch, h
