I arrived back from Bali last night, to a daughter who is down with a fever. OK, maybe I shouldn’t use the word ‘down’ because she’s still hopping around like a bunny and zipping around like Speedy Gonzales. How wonderful it is to be a kid.

I like outdoor toilets, only when [a] I am on holiday; [b] I am the only one using the toilet. I had a run-in with a cockroach last night. It was hiding in my towel, and it fell out when I put it on my head. It fluttered at my left ear and skidded down my unclothed body.

My ex-boss and I went to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2004. We were trying to set up a tertiary school and we went up to give a talk in one of the high schools there, and also met up with some agents.

It’s our last night in Bali. I’m chilling out by the bar at the pool, which is tres awesome. There’s something really nice listening to the sounds of nature, sometimes.

We are here in Bali. It’s beautifully sunny today, despite the fact that it rained last night.

We are staying at the Uma Ubud, which is a beautiful resort hotel with individual villas as rooms. We’ve got a cute patio with two arm chairs that overlook a pretty view of treetops. I ( Read more... )

We are off to Bali to attend a wedding and to soak up the sun. We’ll be back in 4 days. I hope it eventually settles in that I’m going on holiday as it’s been crazy at work and I didn’t have time to think about this trip at all!
