I thought I would pop this fic's comment cherry with a few thoughts that never made it into the beta because, well, I love this fic that much.

Be careful or I might start thinking that you like my fic. ;)

I like that this touches on the recent discussions on abortion in regard to men who are willing to take equal responsibility for their children. It takes two to make a baby and while abortion is generally considered in reference to a woman's control of her own body, there are other effects of the act such as the loss a father who wants the child might feel. The emotional backlash of having made a choice without proper time or resources to arrive at a well-considered, mature decision is also painfully obvious here. It's very evident that no one gets up and walks away (emotionally speaking) after such an event and the ripples are far-reaching. Another aspect touched on was the emotional complications of threesomes and what can be revealed by couples and what can't--the line She wants to know what he would have done if it had had Chris’s dark hair and not their golden brown. is a stark reminder that we, and even moreso, they do not live in a vacuum and people are constantly asking and judging.

I've been trying to think of something intellectual to say to this. (Hence why the response has taken so long.) But I didn't actually think about the story that way until you pointed it out. Which seems kind of silly but you know me. And everytime I think of something to say to this I also think "eh, Leale said it better." But I think the most interesting thing you said was the ripple effect. Because, really, that's what this story was. A series of ripples. The aftermath coming up in waves.

So, you're brilliant. Just so you know.

And so I can stop sounding all intellectual, I adore JC and Lance in this. Because they're helpful and supportive in their own ways. And they're cute.

They are cute. They're JC and Lance. But I realized, once I read this, that I totally forgot Joey. I suck. Poor Joey.
