Do you have the time to listen to me whine?

So yesterday I sat down and watched Green Day: Bullet In a Bible, the live DVD interspersed with interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, directed by the almighty Sam Bayer.

It was beautiful.

This sounds great, I've just checked it out on amazon and will probably buy it in the new year. I've been a fan of Green Day for the last 10 years but I've never managed to see them live so I'm incredibly excited that they'll most likely be touring again next year.

I KNOW! Alternative Press named their upcoming record "one of the most anticipated records of 2009" and I tend to agree.

I have Bullet in a Bible but for some reason have never watched the DVD. I must rectify this immediately I feel.

Green Day was one of the first bands I saw live, one of the first bands I felt a connection to. I love them. I am so excited for them to release new music.

I've had it for a few months too but never had the time to sit down and watch it, but I'm glad I did. It's so beautifully shot, thanks to Sam Bayer, and the interviews are seamless, devoid of any rockstar glitz or polish.

I'm a sucker for great live DVDs in general, but the energy in this one was so infectious. You can see how much MCR and other bands benefit from having Green Day pave the way for honest, rock-to-your-bones, unapologetically opinionated music.

It's just so beautifully crafted, the interviews blending seamless with the concert footage, and Billie Joe talking about songs and songwriting in that endearingly earnest way that makes you want to listen to him all day long.

I've only seen bits and pieces of Bullet in a Bible but everything that I have seen, I've loved. Green Day has always been one of my favorites but I just haven't had the money to get Bullet in a Bible but I really need to save up for it.
