Summary: The kingdom has been going through this rebellion for years. Everyday lives are killed. There are people who give up and leave the rebels, but there are people who still join the rebellion despite the hopeless air surrounding the kingdom. Hankyung is one of the rebels who will not, never, give up. He joined the rebellion for one thing -revenge for the murder of his family.
With that agreement said that Hankyung will bring Heechul out of the palace, Heechul quickly put on his clothes and Hankyung can’t help but notice Heechul wincing depending on his movements. When Heechul was done, Heechul glared at Hankyung and in a harsh tone said, “How do you even plan on escaping here? There are guards at the gates and you won’t be able to escape because they know your face and they know mine.”
Hankyung crossed his arms in front of his chest and gave this rather mischievous smile. “I know the executioner and we talked about this. We can pretend that we’re his victims. He’ll just put those sacks around our heads and bring us out of here so that he can,” Hankyung shrugged his shoulders, “kill us, I guess.”
“Wait,” Heechul approached Hankyung and stabbed his finger on Hankyung’s chest, “Why didn’t he execute you? You’re supposed to be dead!”
Hankyung immediately grabbed Heechul by the hair and pulled his head down. Heechul screamed and clenched his teeth in pain. He grabbed Hankyung’s hand that was holding his hair but Hankyung wouldn’t let go. Hankyung just glared at Heechul. “I still don’t like you so stop giving me reasons to kill you!”
“Just kill me already!” shouted Heechul. “Kill me and get over it!”
Hankyung pulled Heechul’s hair even more that Heechul fell to the floor. “You’re insane,” he even told Heechul. “My family was innocent and they were killed. I vowed to kill the royal family after that, but seeing what happened to you and what that executioner said, you guys are innocent as well. I am only here to kill the murderer of my family. I may hate you, but I’m not as low as your father.”
Heechul scowled and screamed, “Stop insulting my father!”
Hankyung screamed back, “Even if he abuses you every other day!?”
Heechul finally stopped. He was speechless and he just looked down in embarrassment.
Hankyung then looked at the door because he heard footsteps. Quickly, he went on one knee to tell Heechul, “I’ll hide. I’m bringing you out here whether you like it or not,” he was whispering rather hard. “I’ll save you from this hell so you better not tell anyone about me,” and without another thought, Hankyung ran to the bed and slid underneath it. Heechul just stared at Hankyung with tears threatening his eyes yet again.
Only a few seconds has passed and the door is being opened. Heechul quickly went to his feet as his heart starts beating fast because of fear. Is it his father again?
“Heechul,” the door opened and it was Lord Siwon. He had a worried look on his face as he entered the room and walked to Heechul who was relieved to see his fiancé instead of his father. “What was going on here?” Siwon asked Heechul. “I heard people screaming.”
“That was just me,” Heechul muttered as he looked down and hugged himself. “I’m scared, Siwon. Father did it again.”
Siwon was not surprised. He was expecting this. Slowly, he walked towards Heechul and embraced that prince who just started crying again. “I’m here for you,” he told Heechul. Having those arms around him, Heechul relaxed and cried even more.
Under the bed, Hankyung got even more angered and annoyed. He noticed that Siwon seemed to be faking his sympathy. Hankyung knows that the engagement was arranged, but he noticed that Heechul, due to how he opened up so easily to Siwon with his emotions, may have actual honest emotions towards him. However, someone in love will not react so calmly with the fact that his loved one was raped by his own father.
Something was wrong.

The next day, when Heechul woke up, he was surprised to see Hankyung sitting on the chair at the corner of his room. Despite the state of the day being early morning, he woke up with a shock as he quickly sat up and stared at Hankyung. “How did you get here?” He asked.
Hankyung rolled his eyes as his frown stayed on his face. “I used to work as a servant here, what do you think?” Hankyung shook his head. “When you left the room last night, I slept under that damn bed then I went over here to this room.”
“What do you want from me?” asked Heechul.
“I thought I told you already,” replied Hankyung in a harsh tone as he crossed his legs and rested his hands on the arms of the chair. “I’m going to sneak you out of this forsaken palace and I’m going to kill your father. I’m going to do whatever I can first.”
Heechul glared at Hankyung.
Before Heechul can speak more, Hankyung spoke again. “Don’t you dare give me the crap about him being your father. I’ll hide in this room until night comes and I’ll sneak back to Shindong and we’ll get you out immediately.”
Heechul just looked away. He wants to leave, but he can’t leave his family. No matter what, his father is still his father.

The second and young prince, Kibum, was in Siwon’s study. Siwon was on his chair and watching Kibum who was pacing all over the room.
“What do you have to tell me?” asked Siwon.
“I don’t know what to do!” Kibum walked over to Siwon and stood in front of Siwon over his desk. “I want to just break or something!”
“What is it?” asked Siwon again.
“Please,” Kibum grabbed the chair near the desk and put it near him so that he can sit down. “Please, don’t tell anyone about this.”
“What?”
Kibum sighed and honestly looked at Siwon straight in the eye. “My mother is having an affair with one of the guards.”
SIwon’s eyes immediately grew wide and his eyebrows rose miles high. The king’s suspicions are true.
“Also,” Kibum took in a deep breath and let it out, “she’s been having that affair for years now. That guard is Heechul’s real father.”
“What?!” Siwon screamed and stood up so fast that his chair fell to the floor and Kibum jumped in surprise. Junki’s suspicions really are true. “You mean,” Siwon was furious, “I’ve been engaged to a bastard all along?!”
Kibum immediately stood up that his chair also fell to the floor. However, that didn’t matter. “How dare you?!” Kibum shouted at Siwon, “Don’t you dare insult my brother!”
Siwon glared at Kibum and sighed in anger. “I never loved your brother. We’ve been engaged for years and I know that he developed feelings for me, but I never loved him. I only pretended because of this fucking engagement. I’ve been in love with someone else all that time! I could’ve pursued him but I was stuck in this fake engagement!”
Kibum was surprised, terribly surprised. “Who the hell is that person?! How dare you betray my brother and my family?!”
Impulsively, Siwon grabbed Kibum by the back of his neck and pushed their lips together.
Kibum stilled for a few seconds but recovered and pushed Siwon away. “Who the hell do you think you are?! How dare you touch me like that!?”
“Listen,” Siwon grabbed Kibum from the back of his neck again and threatened him, “if you dare anger me, I’ll reveal this truth that your brother is an illegitimate child. You know that your father will have him killed.”
Kibum gulped in fear.
“I won’t hurt you,” Siwon let go of Kibum and took a step back. “I already told you that I hold feelings for you. Just remember not to anger me because I have something against your family. Now,” Siwon turned around and faced the huge mirror that stood behind his desk. “Leave.”
Kibum quickly turned around and left the room. What is he to do now? He can’t approach anyone about this. He’ll end up breaking the family if he reveals this information to anyone.

Kyuhyun was walking down the corridors alone. As he walked, a servant was walking towards him, heading to where he just came from. Kyuhyun just gave him a glare then moved his chin up. The servant walking was the one who obviously tried to seduce him. Kyuhyun thought that this girl would stop, but he was wrong.
The girl ‘tripped’ right in front of Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun, despite being trained to be a gentleman, just stopped walking and glared down at the girl. When the girl look at him, it was obvious that the girl was trying to act all helpless. Kyuhyun wasn’t interested in those. He wasn’t interested in anything. He just wanted to get life over with.
“Your majesty,” the girl bowed her head and clumsily tried to stand up. She bowed again and apologized, “Forgive me, your majesty.”
To the girl’s surprise, Kyuhyun grabbed the girl by the wrist and started dragging her down the corridors towards his own chambers.
“Your majesty!” The girl faked her helplessness. She was actually rather excited. She’s getting her job done.
When the two reached the prince’s bedchambers, Kyuhyun just threw the girl onto the bed. “What’s your name?” He ordered.
“Your majesty,” the girl answered, “my name is Lee Sungmin.”
Kyuhyun’s eyes snapped open. “What’s your name again?” He was obviously surprised.
“My name is Lee Sungmin, sire.”
Kyuhyun shook his head. This was a different Sungmin. This isn’t the Sungmin who he actually fell in love with when he was younger. He’s around ten years older than this Sungmin. This girl definitely isn’t his girl from the past.
“Sire?”
Kyuhyun frowned again. “It’s obvious that you’re up to no good,” Kyuhyun’s voice was stoic as he kept his hands behind his back. “Tell me what’s your purpose here. I’m not stupid, Sungmin. You’ve obviously been seducing me. Now, spill the truth.”
“Your majesty,” Sungmin sat properly on the bed, “I have no ill intentions. I’m just simply doing my work.”
Kyuhyun glared at the young servant and told her, “I have a feeling that you’re in conjunction with that assassin who was just assassinated.”
Sungmin’s heart started beating faster. Was he talking about Hankyung? It can’t be.
Kyuhyun noticed the girl’s sudden shock that he said, “I guess you know him. Since I have no evidence of you working with him, I’ll let you go this time. So, leave.”
Sungmin quickly stood up, bowed down to Kyuhyun, and left in a hurry.
When Kyuhyun was left alone, he went over to his bedside table and opened it. He put his hand in to search for something that he kept hidden underneath everything. When he got it, he pulled it out and sadly looked at it. It was his old lover’s necklace. He gave it to her when they were together in bliss. When that bliss disappeared and fights overwhelmed their relationship, she gave him back the necklace. That seemed like the end, but it wasn’t. They kept on meeting as their love was fighting against all the problems that were overtaking them. She told him that she wants to fix everything, but he was stressed that time that he acted coldly towards her. She started showing her sadness and pain, but he snapped at her. He screamed at her, asking her how he wants him to act. He remembered that he screamed out, “What do you want me to do?! How do you want me to act?!” and she just became quiet. When he stopped shouting, she just left him and said that she wants everything to go back as how it was before. They didn’t talk for days, and when Kyuhyun’s anger disappeared, he went looking for her. However, she was gone. He kept on looking for her and when he couldn’t find her, and when all their acquaintances, family and friends refused to reveal her location, he sent her a message thru her family. He said, ‘goodbye forever,’ and even blamed their doomed relationship in that letter.
He hurt her badly, and his pride refused to see it. It was only when months passed that he realized his wrong. Despite that realization though, his pride still refused to apologize. He never searched for her. Years passed, and it was obvious that they were to never meet again.
That Sungmin, that servant, is not his Sungmin. However, hearing that name just brought him back to the past. It brought him back to the girl who he so strongly loved, and the girl he was stupid enough to push away, forever.

Sungmin was running through the corridors. Tears were in her eyes as she ran. Hankyung can’t be dead. Hankyung is her lover. Hankyung and she came to the palace with a mission. Neither of them was supposed to die. When she reached the servants’ quarters, she asked around about an assassin who was caught and executed. Her fear was true. An assassin with the same features as Hankyung was caught trying to kill Prince Heechul wherein he was ordered to be executed. Sungmin had to excuse herself and cried in a corner. She wants to leave the palace, but her loyalty to her cause made her decide to stay in the palace despite her deep sadness. Her eyes were painfully swollen due to the crying. She just can't stop crying. "Hankyung, I'm sorry."

Eunhyuk was in jail that night. He was to be executed for not being able to pay his taxes. He was in jail with his sister and their family. Tonight will be the last night he’ll live. He’ll never see the night again as tomorrow morning will be his death. He and his family should’ve escaped the kingdom when they could, but they didn’t. They stayed and this is what they got.
All of them were locked together in a big cell. You could see people, young or old, crying silently. The children were holding their parents tightly, the parents were trying to be strong, the grandparents were holding onto each other. They were all awaiting their deaths. All of them are innocent. Some were rebels, but since they were fighting for a righteous cause against this tyrannical reign, they were innocent of the sins that the royal family has caused. They were victims too, just victims who were standing up for themselves.
Then, the door to the jail cell opened. In came some people with hooded capes. All the prisoners felt their fear grew, that is, until the one leading the group showed his face. It was none other than Donghae, the son of the leader of the rebellion. Everyone felt relieved seeing him, and they felt even more relieved when he told them, “I’m bringing you all out. I can’t bring you back to your homes, though. I have to keep you guys hidden in our underground passageways. A lot of us are hiding there so I can assure you that you’ll all be safe.” Donghae then looked at his men and ordered them to, “get your keys and release all the prisoners. This’ll be one of the biggest prison breaks we’ll ever make.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“I can’t believe this,” said Heechul as he entered Hankyung’s small house. “I can’t believe that I let you bring me out of the palace. I can’t believe that it was that easy. We just needed to pretend like we were prisoners in the dungeon who Shindong was going execute.” Heechul removed the hood that was covering Hankyung’s face and faced Hankyung who also removed his hood to reveal his face. “Does Shindong do this often?”
Hankyung nodded. “He told me that he does this almost every night.” Then, Hankyung led Heechul to his bedroom. “You can sleep here,” he pointed towards the small bed. “I can just sleep on the floor.” Hankyung’s voice was soft as he just left the prince in his bedroom.
Heechul just stared at Hankyung as he left the room. Then, he looked around. How can someone live in such a small place? This is unheard of. He has never seen anything like this before. He has never been inside houses like these. He has always lived within palace grounds. He has been in the town, but he has never been inside any of the houses. The only homes he’s been in is his palace and the other palaces of the kingdoms surrounding his.

The next day, the queen was acting hysterical. Her son is nowhere to be found. Instead of running to her husband, she ran to Kangin first. “Kangin,” Eeteuk grabbed his hand as panic was overtaking her, “our son is missing!”
