wow.
The best thing ever just happened to me. I really mean the best thing ever. I went to take my first final today for one of my crazy ass math classes. I haven't been to the class since the last midterm. The final was easy. I was done first. I handed it in and the teacher grabbed my arm and gestured for me to sit down. He looked through the final I had just handed in and then told me to come outside with him. I was scared I was getting in trouble for something. He asked me if I felt his class was boring. I said no, I actually find the material interesting, which is true. He asked me why I missed so much class this semester. I said that he didn't take attendance and I was able to learn the stuff without coming to class. He said that whenever I do come to class it seems like I finish every example very quickly and then I just look bored, which I guess is true. He told me that he's never had a student finish exams so fast and always get consistently the highest scores without even coming to class. THEN and this is a big THEN....he asked me if I would help him work on a theory. Work on a theory! I don't really know what it's about yet, he's emailing me details today, but this is huuuuuuuge. If things go according to plan, this could change my life. There's 2 grad students and another professor working with him and he wanted a younger female. He said the way I draw conclusions is very different and interesting and they really need someone like me. Can you imagine that shit on my resume? I will never have a problem finding a job and I will sound sooooo smart. He's moving to Germany at the end of the summer so he said his new company will pay to fly us out there if we proceed in the right direction or make any break throughs. How crazy is that?! It's the most crazy. I wish other people would get really excited with me. I can't remember being this happy about anything ever.
