Today I'm really going with the nostalgic feeling. I watched a gamer, and the outro noises he makes made me remember Saber Rider's intro. Does anyone know this Japanese series? It was about a small group of people who used armour suits to fight crime. So I re-watched the opening, and have some thoughts I would love to share.

Oh, Heaven, where to begin? We have 4 main characters. The Japanese car driver Fireball, the American cowboy Colt, the British leader Saber Rider, and the French blond girl April.
To tell the truth, I don't remember much from Fireball's characters, other than being really temperament.
By Colt what I know is that he was a womaniser. And now it can be that I'm mixing it up with something, but somehow I associate him with a whip...? Not sure but I think he could use one as good as a gun. But the main reason I remember him, is because his fr**k*ng head-wear is designed to look like a cowboy hat. No matter how many times I see that, I need to laugh. And it was the same as a child watching it.
Saber Rider - for me he looks more like a German soldier then English, but oh well. How I remember he was even some kind of royalty, a prince, duke. His character seemed always so cold, not wanting to see grey, only black or white. Ironic, with that suit he has on. X3 He also had real horses, but always used a mecha one. I guess in space that was the only solution to ride... But don't get it why he choose a horse form as transportation. Fireball had a car, and Colt a jet. No logic.
Oh, and if you check the opening there is a point where Saber's mecha-eyes shine, and so does the mecha horse's eye shine too. The reason this makes such a huge impact on me is because of two things. One is, that at the time of the creation of this anime, Japanese loved to show those with strong will, or a will to win with a little star flashing in their eye. This is funny for me as Hungarian, because we have some folk tales, where or main character is starry-eyed. I felt a plus entertainment just from this fact.
I left the best for last, April. The girl is pushed aside as a "fangirl" type, however she is the one, who controls the main ship most of the time, and she is just as good at riding a horse, or shooting as Saber. Her braveness shows in the opening, how every guy is set with suits, only she is in normal clothes with the gun. X3 Later she gets to wear a pink-red suit too, has somewhat of a pink ranger feel to it, which I didn't like that much.
The opening song is really catchy, and I love that sound they use by the gunshots, though for me they totally sound like whips. There is a
longer version available for those curious enough to check.
