Book vs Movie
I finished reading Stardust by Niel Gaiman a couple nights ago. Although it was an easy read, I just took my time hoping for some really good passages. For once, I can honestly say that I liked the movie much better than the book only because this is after a fantasy science fiction and the movie did a great job portraying the world and its character. I can see where in some parts, fans may say that the movie was much more elaborate or that the book clarifies certain naunances that really aren't fully explained in the movie, but in all, the book was rather bland and boring for my taste. Then again I do have a vivid imagination so its like pitting a picasso against anime.
This isn't any Harry Potter, but I was hoping more of the Nicholas Sparks where I could feel every emotion bleeding from the page. I just a sentimental sap i suppose. I guess i'll have to cruise the local Border's this weekend for some good reads. That should kill a good 4-5 hours.
