I hate foresight.

So I recently read up on the new Fairy Tail chapter.

And needless to say, I'm annoyed. Only at myself, not the manga artist. I mean, I saw this coming! Erza's death was just itching to happen the moment her arc started. But even before that there were signs that she had to go, and go she did.

I mean it'd be one thing if she was a powerful character that stayed behind the scenes, like Master Makarov or Luxus and Mist Gun. But she was an S-Class mage who actively participated with the main group of the story, which meant the author was going to get rid of her sooner or later.

I was hoping he'd just push her back to the background, but it looks like he went with a more.. drastic approach. I can't blame him either, Erza's character is quite likable and the reactions towards her personality and actions are often hilarious. Just pushing her out of the limelight would have been undesirable by fans, and an uproar would've followed up.

But if she dies, we can't do much about that, can we?

Lluvia as a replacement character is fine, especially since she's probably equal to Lucy, Grey, and Natsu in terms of power but..

It's hard not sulking over the sacrifice of an awesome Mage Knight with powers over something akin to the all powerful hammer space, ya know?
