wow what an interesting weekend.
1. friday night was the initiate retreat. we camped at jetty park, did beach things, went to fairvilla, wendy's, and walmart for a firelog to make smores.
2. spent saturday w/my parents while i did a homework assignment. during said assignment i called my teacher to discuss certain aspects of grammatical morpheme analysis and somehow it led to her offering me the position as ta for next fall for language analysis. after that i drove home in a mad rush to get pretty and to brian's on time for his mom's family dinner. at this moment i am chuckling just remembering that evening. the food was good, but what was better was the entertainment. mandy went psycho about knife regulations and laws because of that university stabbing. i stayed out of it and brian and chris started yelling back and forth at her. their mom would say that the conversation was inappropriate, or over, or any number of things yet mandy would continue. this was all in front of a japanese foreign exchange student and their stepdad's, 14 year old daughter and gma. it continues on to the dinner table where finally after many unsuccessful attempts i manage to change the subject rather pointedly. mandy begins to pout and refuses to eat mumbling about how we are all idiots and such. so now i've gotten a civilized convo going and all of a sudden mandy breaks in with a story about a boy in the store hitting a lady's butt and the lady trying to teach him that hitting people like that is wrong. the boy ends up responding "well i guess i wouldn't like it if you hit me in my penis" she is laughing hysterically and her mom is just... flabbergasted. i think you get the point of how this night went. when i thanked brian's mom for having me over for dinner, she loudly said "thank you so much for coming, you were the one bright spot in all this."!!!!
3. sunday was the family picnic. my parents came and then we went to bass pro shop. after that brian and i went to see that one comedian elected president movie, "man of the year". much more suspense and less hilarity than i thought it was going to be.
