Well, incase you hadn't heard, my home town of Fallbrook is on fire. My family was evacuated yesterday, around 2:30 pm, and we were diverted through the Naval Weapons Station and Camp Pendelton as all other routes out of Fallbrook were closed due to the fires. Today I drove my parents down to Shelter Island for a night's reprise before they leave for Minneapolis (and other points eastward) for two weeks or so. On the way down there, I noticed a plume of smoke about the time I crossed the hills north of Escondido.
