Complete nonsense
So I was futzing with the 'Save the Date' flyer that I'll be sending out regarding the wedding. The origional line read:
"Please save the date so you may join us at our Anniversary Reception"
Now, our anniversary is technically the 12th of August. Plus, we never had a wedding reception in the first place, so "anniversary reception" isn't really appropriate, as Isaac pointed out. So, I came up with a few alternatives:
Please save the date so you may join us for...
-our Belated Wedding Reception
-our Somewhat Delayed Celebration of Nuptualness
-an Extremely-Post Wedding Hootinanny
-some Wedding Reception-ish Type of Shindiggery
-a Way-After-the-Fact Weddingly "To Do"
-Vittles 'N Likker In the Barn
-an afternoon of watching my mom get drunk on one glass of wine and consequently requesting the chicken dance
Currently, the line actually reads "for our Wedding Reception-Type Party"
Any other suggestions?
