Why must summer turn its ugly face my way?
The are only three good things about summer
1. Holidays- self explanatory
2. Summer uniform- it is way better than the school winter uniform, and quicker to put on (so I get to sleep in for 10 more minutes in the mourning).
3. Warm mornings- It’s warm in the morning which is good because I’m not freezing my ass of and don’t have to get dressed in front of the heater (which is pretty risky as it is in the lounge room).
However, there are unlimited downsides of summer
1. The heat- anyone who lives in Melbourne will remember the day last year when it reached 47 degrees. I felt like I was melting. I hate hot weather and I hate the sun…damn you summer!
2. The beach- I’m not a fan of the beach, in fact I hate it; I hate the sand, the seaweed, the salty feeling in your hair and on your skin, the smell and the scariness of sharks (who are always lurking in the shadows). I know it’s supposedly “un-Australian” to not like the beach but I don’t and never will.
3. Walking home from school- walking home from school in the summer is hell on earth, although I suppose it may be better than being squashed in a school bus pressed up against a sweaty armpit of someone who has never heard of deodorant.
4. Sun block- it feels so gross and greasy.
5. Spiders- Big, hairy, and scary- they all come out in summer (not to mention the snakes).
Winter is my only friend
