In this AU of Season 1, Sam is harboring another secret when Dean finds him at Stanford. Action, adventure, and chronic illness.

I have been so lucky with my partners for the spn_gen_bigbang I can hardly believe it. greeneyes_fan was lovely to work with and very patient with my slow progress. On top of that, she is a fantastic author. I admit I have a weakness for chronically ill Sam and this story is a beautifully executed example of that theme.
I strongly reccomend this fic to all my fellow Sam fans. And to those of you who just enjoy the brothers going about solving cases and being awesome together.
Banner
Everything in this picture is free-hand drawing except for the car. I free-handed it in the first sketch, but after some advice from quickreaver who also gave me great tips for the colours, I redrew it. Since I didn't have the time and the nerve to scan everything again, I took a pic of the Impala I found through google, mirrored it and drew the outlines over the photo before erasing it. To be honest, that was the first time ever I did something like that and I felt a little guilty, but with things like cars and buildings, I've decided for myself that it's okay. Let's just say the chapter cards would have looked a lot more crappy without it.
For the gun I used the one beneath Dean's bed in the beginning of Exile on Main Street for reference. The rosary and the pill container had no reference at all.

As you can see it profited greately from quickreaver's advice.
After finishing the banner I played around with the colours and gave greeneyes_fan a couple of variations to choose from. The one you see above is the one she picked. This is the original version:

Sam and Dean during their first case in the fic. greeneyes_fan requested this scene and I royally screwed it up.
If you happened to have seen my art for poetartist's bigbang, you might wonder why she got four additional illustrations and this bigbang only gets one. The answer is simply that the pictures for this story took up a lot more time than the much more simple ones for The Art of Pulling Pie from Thin Air and I did my best to use about equal amounts of time and effort for both my authors.
