I'll say it - I loved it. I loved the long goodbyes. IMHO, Ten deserved that. One last chance to be awesome, to save his friends, and while dying too! EPIC. I also liked the fact that his past companions knew this was it for him. It was closure for everyone involved

I'll deliver my visiting friend to the airport early Tuesday morning. That night, if you're available, we can mourn together. I think I'll need that.
How slashy was this episode? And how depressing? Contrary to most, I love long goodbyes. (Come on. It was a couple of minutes at the end of four freaking years!)
And how sad yet appropriate was that the Doctor would prepare to die for the universe and after unexpectedly surviving that would sacrifice himself for one old man? I can't tell you how much I love him right now.
I could do Tuesday, although a bit early would be better since I'm working up the ass of dawn Wednesday morning. Wednesday could probably be better so if that works, let me know. If not, Tuesday will be fine. :) I'll make it work!
Dude, SO MUCH SLASH! Heck, it made a small Master fan out of me. I'm not a card carrying member of the fan club yet, but I really liked him in this.
Yeah, I loved the long goodbye. I've read some different opinions, but I loved it. The whole thing. While I was sobbing into my beer.
Does this mean we can look forward to some more deliciously dark tenth doctor stories from your corner? I do hope so - no one writes the character quite like you do and, like you, the last episode has left me literally frantic for more tenth doctor material to fuel my imagination

I'm definitely inspired to write DW again, but unfortunately also tied up in other projects, some of which are of high real-life-importance. But if I can, I'll write some of the fics I've had in mind for a while.
I loved the ending too. Sacrficing yourself for random people is so much more epic than sacrificing yourself for the world.
Rassilon! - Oh. My. Word! The Doctor's father!!! ..and his human mother - Penelope - who kept talking to Wilf.
Which means that the time war must've gone all the way back to the founding of the Time Lords proper.. and changed it and Rassilon to the point where even the Doctor had to send them back to die.
Whoa.
RTD pulled SO many of the various story threads together I don't know where to start!
No definite source but a few posts intimating it.. though if the meshyfish compendium (which seems to be what the writers and RTD routinely sift material from) is correct, Penny would have been at Rassilon's side during his lifetime

Yes. But why not! The Master was resurrected from the Matrix because he "would be the perfect warrior for a time war" (Sound of Drums) so it stands to reason that other time lords would be brought back to fight in a similar way. And Rassilon would be an obvious candidate! Another example of previous hints all tying back into this last story.
About Rassilon: You do have a point there. If they resurrected the Master, why not Rassilon? On the other hand, they had to know what they were getting. Just not sure they cared at that point.

As will fanfics. I found myself craving good fanfics with Ten after this episode.

I'm a bit excitable over all this, aren't I!
