hello, hi flist. it's 2009!!
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
had a panic attack, drove a car, been naked in a public place, posted nude photos where people i don't know could see them, went to the aquarium!!!, went to a bondage club, naked hottubbing! (in the snow!), taken nude photos of other people, designed a tattoo for someone, gotten spontaneously pierced. i'm having difficulty thinking of more. =(
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions and will you make more for next year?
i made a semi-resolution to be more assertive in my life and not wait for shit to happen. i think i kept it, but could have done better. this year i planned to get laid (check, lulz), to avoid myspace drama, and to not be afraid of love (in all its forms).
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
no
4. Did anyone close to you die?
no
5. What countries did you visit?
barely left the state in 2008.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
confidence. (this was my answer last year. it still rings true)
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
SO MANY. like Pride/my birthday, which was awesome. or tahoe! (naked hottubbing in the snow! sledding! such win). mostly, novato! (the cheese factory, the bus, the music, the smiling, the lighthouse, the beach, the nudity, the utter awesomeness!)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
i don't know that i did anything epically awesome, honestly.
9. What was your biggest failure?
so many things.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
i got sick. DDDDDDDDD= but was otherwise fine.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Helga, my ipod. or Arnold, my ipod speaker.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
mine! and everyone who was there for me throughout the bullshit.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
mine, my dad's, certain other people.
14. Where did most of your money go?
food. no, really.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
being back with brittany, although that didn't work out. novato made me pretty excited.

happier!

thinner

richer in some ways, poorer in others. (same answer)

at my aunt's house, wishing i had brought someone with me.

i don't hate anyone i didn't hate before. but there are certainly some people i'm better off without, that i didn't recognize as such last year.

i didn't read many books. ask me something better, like the best fic.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
the klaxons, milosh, le tigre, apparat, panic at the disco (i already knew about them and had their music, but i rediscovered them in a whole new way in recent months)

to love myself more, to have good friends up north.

to not fail, to stay with louis, to talk to joe, to get laid, chloe
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
i don't watch a lot of films, and this one didn't come out this year, but i definitely saw Purple Rain for the first time and it owned.

i turned 20 and spent it at San Francisco Pride

more love.

awesome.

if i can be considered sane, check-ins, cuddling, supportive loving people.

for most of the year, the usual linkin park obsession was in place. but mychem took hold and then panic firmly took over. i wish i could say now i just have one obsession, but quite the opposite. now i have three.

clarawhale, jess, jamietan, jeannielee, lauren, joy, meera.

2009 needs to go on being this awesome, seriously. so far: **awesome shit i can't brag about because it's sort of a secret??**, boy angst, oral sex, awesome fic, sunset on venice beach with jamietan and lauren and clara and clara's mom, hanging out at the promenade (with no shortage of head jokes from kory), cuddling!
