reading list
Three of my classes are now finished (finnish? xb?) and I'm sitting here, with 20 something papers left to grade tonight, and there's a book laying next to me and its crying my name. and i'm caving into its wiley ways.
I finally bought this book after lusting after it for 2 years now. The Beauty of the Husband, by Anne Carson.
Lindsay Broockman borrowed it from the rock at the end of our freshman yeah, when she had two weeks with nothing to do but study for a final she knew she'd ace. She obsessed over it, as only lindsay could, and then convinced me to read it once I had finished my finals. I read it for many straight hours, struck hard by its elegance. I finished it, but i had to return it to the rock and have since craved it on many a literature starved night.
I've had good luck with books recommended by friends. And I'll be away from the forced reading lists of academia for 7 months. So here is my challenge to you:
recommend to me books that you think i'll like. and I'll think of you when I read them. And i'll be happy. because i have books. and friends. and friends who like books.
