land beyond the sun
so it's been a long week.....lots of time in LTTE territorry (where the tigers roam), which is carpeted with coils of barbed wire and AK-47s and police raids....people definitely need lots of help there but i am looking forwards to getting out.
on the way, i took some much happier pictures of the heartlands,
and also climbed the mystical Sigiriya:
a castle in the sky carved out of mountains,
with walls covered with paintings of aincient ladies.
i liked this one the best:
the architecture was really incredible, engineering blended seamlessly with the beauty of the rock outcroppings.
also discovered a new way to pray with the trees,
making my hands into "wa" and raising them above my head forming a leaf shape
then sway in the wind...how lovely to commune with nature again.
