A House!
So, Jim and I are in the process of buying a house! We made an offer, and a counter offer, and it was accepted! Now we're sort-of almost house owners. Today, we met Barry, our home inspector. We went through each level thoroughly, and thankfully there weren't many bad surprises. We will definitely need a new heat pump, but the other fixes won't be too bad.
The house is in Columbia, a large town comprised of 10 "villages" that each have their own town centers. It's a planned community with many walking paths, parks, and lakes. Our house is within walking/biking distance to the mall, library, Merriweather Post Pavilion, and Symphony Woods Park. I'm really excited to buy a bicycle and explore my new home.
We're closing on November 10th, so Jim and I are gradually packing up our things. Time isn't a huge concern, because even if we move in on the 10th our lease isn't up until the end of November. We won't have much money for furniture we'd like or decorative items, but we're but so excited (and anxious) about finally closing on a house.
