Of Dogs and Writing -- What Else?

First off -- thanks for the moral support, all.  Bruce is apparently doing better this morning -- fingers, toes, eyes crossed!  I may be throwing a chicken into a pot to boil down pretty soon.  That makes a nice mild tantalizing dog food.

Of course, I also need to make another batch of gizzard-veggie glop for everyone else.  It's a bit of work to replace the spoonful of canned food they always get on their kibble with a spoonful of homebrew, but both of our senior citizens have had excellent bloodwork (like, so excellent it blows the vet's mind) and seem to be in glowingly good health.  For whatever reason, studies have shown that a spoonful of wet food added to dry kibble helps prevent bloat, so that's how we started on that.  Too, the kibbling process takes the food up to ridiculously high temperatures and many nutrients are measured before that -- so if they're not heat-stable, they're gone, but not according to the packaging.  This way, everyone gets a bit of steamed fruit and veg in their diets, and the gizzard part makes it palatable to them.  I can throw in glucosamine, ginger, or whatever seems to be needed for the elderly joints.  I have no idea whether the little bits he'd had of this helped boost Bruce's immune system or not, but Wanda happily gulps it down.

I am about to do another run on a set of suggested edits, having made the last batch without the list of suggestions handy.  Memory?  What's that?  Anyway, I'm trying to have faith that the story will be better this way and that it won't fall into "I'm always lost when I read your stories" land.
