Seeking Long Term Commitment
Needed: one beta-reader with huge amounts of free time willing to clobber my original prose at the rate of at least 5,000 words/week. Must be fearless, sharp-quilled, and capable of humor. Must be unafraid of arguments over a comma. Must be willing to pretend never to have seen this universe before, even after story #8, because the magazine editor won't have. Must be able to keep Willie and Winnie straight even though they're identical twins.
For those of you who currently have something or other of mine in hand, this isn't meant as a put-down on your skills or speed. I just feel bad giving any one of you ALL of it without you having volunteered for the duty of having me dancing up and down from the minute I send it to you to the minute you get it back to me again roughly every couple of days. When I'm on a roll, I write A LOT. Not everyone wants to proofread A LOT, and not everyone who would has time to. And I know most of you are too nice to say so.
