Social activities and a random prompt

The "Subject" line should be below the text box, I say.

I need to paint some more, and generally tear apart the house.  Yesterday my accomplishment was the resume-revision and the application to a batch of jobs.  I also quested around for orchestras, but most of them appear to be volunteer and/or require professions of the Christian faith.  I suppose that volunteer thing would get me playing again, and put me in a position to get found for weddings, funerals, bar mitzvahs, and seventeen Messiahs a year, but as my mother says, "Anything worth doing is worth doing for money."

So -- how many of you leave a tissue in a pocket when you do laundry, at what frequency?  What do you say when it happens?  And what do you do about it?  There's your Writer's Block prompt, VV style, for the day.  Myself, I grumble and wear lint, but pull it off Spouse's clothes as best I can.  The current dryer seems not to make strings and fragments as badly as some.

The pirate story is on simmer at present.  It would be present-day setting, same universe as all the other stuff I've been working on, but with different characters.  The bunnies that started breeding were an interesting set.  slian_martreb asked what happened if the character turned into something aquatic.  ravensgryff hoped someone turned into a giant squid.  And, of course, since my universe is a near-neighbor to everyone else's, I wondered what the world's governments would do if they had magic available to use on the problem.

Then it occurred to me that in my little developing universe, being magical is a little like being homosexual -- in some countries, it's a death-penalty offense.  Then it seemed quite likely that any witch born in Somalia would probably be automatically an outlaw...  Then it started getting interesting.  But this stew still has to simmer.

bymerlinsbeard  has also been a help for research, discussion, and general thought-nudges.  If someone else has said or still says something helpful, I'll try to credit it, but don't be hurt if I forget/forgot.  If it dies instead of getting written, I'll confess.  If not, y'all may get a draft posted here to play with.  Some people say writing is a solitary activity.  When I did it that way, nothing ever was finished and what wasn't finished was kinda stinky.  Interaction helps soooo much for me.
