This week I picked up:
5 lbs orange and yellow carrots
mixed salad greens
cooking greens (yokatta na, similar to bok choi)
1 small pie pumpkin
fermented daikon
broccoli
We ate the broccoli and some of the carrots last night with dinner. The pumpkin will be a pie as soon as I have time. As far as the rest of the carrots, I think I'll make some kind of soup this weekend. I also have to work on pulling together a group project for my Visual Basic class this weekend, so I don't know how much time I'll have to cook. At least my classes will wrap up on Wednesday and I'm only taking one class during the next term, which runs through the end of the year. That should give me plenty of time for holiday cooking and baking.
I haven't tried the fermented daikon yet, but it's supposed to be good for you like other fermented foods, helping digestion and promoting beneficial intestinal bacteria and so on and so forth. All I know is it made my work area smell like death on Tuesday. It figures that my share would be stinky the one day I bring it back to work with me instead of dropping it off at home.
