Australia Day
As the sun finally sets on this day of celebrations I look back and think of the things that remind me of Australia.
The incessant droning of Cicadas woke me this morning, announcing the dawning of a bright, and very hot, day.
A scorching sun blazed from pristine blue skies, bearing down relentlessly until an hour or so ago.
"I love a sunburnt country", a great poet once said, and he was right.
The land itself carries the sun in its rust red ochre, burning with the promise of a bright future.
It truly is a beautiful country. Fierce, mysterious, awesome in its expanse and abundance.
Today was a day to give thanks for the beautiful country we call home.
