Master Key System Part Four

May 06, 2024 10:47

I am going through these chapters much slower than I anticipated due to the assignments at the end of each.  I thought I had mastered the last one, but in the following chapter it stated the timeframe was 15-20 minutes and I have only been doing 10-15.  But I am going to go forward anyway.

This chapter talks some about how God/Devil, good/bad, negative/positive are effects, not causes that society focuses on too much without trying to determine the actual cause.  I tend to agree with this.

This chapter also mentions "I" statements in the form of something like: When you think "I am" or "I feel" you are then causing it to happen.  From my layperson understanding, this is the opposite of what modern neuroscience tells us.  But as this was written/published in 1916 I think I can give it a pass.  Maybe in the framework of the book, it would be better to say something like, "The Universal Mind influences the thoughts of the Individual Mind in the form of I statements in such a way as the Individual Mind perceives it as an original thought of its own."

The assignment this week (or probably month at the rate I am 'mastering' these'), builds on the former like before.  This time while meditating, the task is not only to let go/relax physically, but mentally as well.

When I started going through this book, I was trying to meditate first thing in the morning to set a tone for the day, but actually I have found I have better luck doing it before bed.  It relaxes me and helps me sleep, and if doing it consistently I find it sets more of a tone for day-today life instead of just the one day.

And, of course, the summary at the end:

What is thought?

Thought is spiritual energy.

How is it carried?

By the law of vibration.

How is it given vitality?

By the law of love.

How does it take form?

By the law of growth.

What is the secret of its creative power?

It is a spiritual activity.

How may we develop the faith, courage, and enthusiasm which will result in accomplishment?

By recognition of our spiritual nature.

What is the secret of Power?

Service.

Why is this so?

Because we get what we give.

What is the Silence?

A physical stillness.

P.S. As a Dr Who fan, I found reading about the Silence in this way difficult.  If you know, you know.

manifestation, meditation, spirituality
