I have been struggling to find a topic for this week, so I am just going to go with what has been on my mind the most: My job.
A few months back I was let go from where I was working and had to go back to an old job. It was a huge paycut and now I am operating in the red every month. I really didn't want to come back because I knew this would be the case. On top of that, it is a struggle for me to get the hours I was working which only compounds the problem. Because of how low the pay rate is, we don't exactly attract the most competent. Also our turnover rate is unreal. I've only been back four months and we have almost had a full turnover.
Because everyone is either incompetent or in training, it puts so much stress on me. I cannot count on my co-workers at all to do their part. I work in payroll, so we really can't afford errors because it will directly effect someone's livelihood. When something ineviably goes wrong, my boss immediately comes to me. Dealing with all of this while knowing that I am not even breaking even is getting to be too much.
For confidentiality reasons I really can't go into any more detail than that. I guess I just hope if someone else is down on their luck they can know they are not alone.
Also if anyone knows of any payroll/accounting jobs that are hiring (that don't require an advanced degree) please share the link with me!
Hope you all have a good week.
