There's been this Samurai movie cycle at Cineteca Nacional (a theatre that shows just art movies). It's been going on since last week and this weekend it'll end. Since the cycle was just about Japanese movies I decided I should try and watch a couple. Here's the poster.
Last week I saw one in black and white, about the end of the Tokugawa and samurais. It was really fun and really old. And yesterday I saw a more recent one called River's edge. It was about a samurai who gets commissioned to kill another one that abandoned their clan. The problem is the man he has to kill is his sister's husband.
It's a real drama, lots of emotions running wild during the movie. But it kinda has a happy ending. I liked it.
It also gave me a chance to hear some Japanese because I've been forgetting a lot.
