Which is why I'm here more often now. XD
So, weather has been acting up lately. I know it's rainy season and all, so I'm not surprised when a storm strikes at 4 in the afternoon (making it hard for me to go out to my classes because, this being the city it is, all the streets get flooded in ten minutes and makes driving hard ¬¬).
I do, however, get surprised when the sun is shining bright. It's also confusing because I don't know if I should go out with a coat and an umbrella or just a light sweater. I can never get it right. Last weekend I went out and the sun was all over the sky, no clouds, no nothing so I went out with no umbrella. As my luck would have it... 2 hours later there was no sun any more, and 30 minutes later a storm was all over the place.
Today sun has been shining all morning, I have to leave for class at 4 and I'll just hope and pray it won't rain.... but, just in case, I'll take one of my small umbrellas.
You never know with this damn weather.
I heard on the news the new royal baby was born, and I was so happy for Kate and William, they seem really glad and happy. They named him George, it's a good name. :D
As for other news, I've been reading a bit.
"The fountainhead" - Ayn Rand
The never ending book. It's so big that I haven't made much progress, the font is so small and the woman just wrote soooo many pages. It is good, and interesting, it's just too big and now that I've had it for 2 months, I'm starting to get tired of it and I leave it around for a week before picking it up again.
"Les confidences d'Arsène Lupin" - Maurice Leblanc
My first Lupin book got me really excited. I was in college and I found it in the library. I read it and fell in love with the character, a gentleman thief sounded exciting and new... and on a trip to Europe I managed to get 5 books... sadly, after reading 2 my love died and now I don't like it any more. All the stories are the same, and Lupin doesn't surprise me any more. He is so much like Sherlock (Leblanc was commissioned to write something like it, so it's not a surprise) that it annoys me. This book is just ok.
"El alma de las piedras" - Paloma Sánchez Garnica
I actually started this book because I got myself involved in a book group on Facebook (don't give me weird looks, I tried to make a book group with a friend and it crashed a few months ago, and I really like discussing books with someone so I took desperate measures). They were going to start this one and I thought I'd give it a try. Just from the summary I thought I wouldn't like it, but, you can't judge a book by the summary so I started it.
I was pleasantly surprised when yesterday, I stayed up until 1 AM reading because I just couldn't put the book down. So I'm happy, at least one of my books is interesting.
I've also been searching for plane tickets, my visa should get back next week so I should start looking into a way to get to London. They are expensive, but I think I'll end up flying in British Airways. It's one of the cheapest and the pros are that is a direct flight. No connections to worry about.
And I think that's it for today.
Maybe I'll go and read a little before leaving for class.
