On New Year's Day, my cat awoke me from my nap by walking across my head and scraping his somewhat sagging tummy over my forehead and eyelids; it felt like a giant fuzzy caterpillar crawling across me.

*Pause*

I suppose it's better than him shoving his taint in my face, as he's done a time or two in the past. But, still.

There are many, many unpleasant ways to be awakened; so many, in fact, that it's far easier to list the pleasant ways than the unpleasant.

But I have to say that one of most disagreeable non-violent/non-painful ways to be awakened is to have your cat rub his wet nose along your mouth.

As Charlie Brown used to say, "BLEEAAAHH!"
