Quotastic memage.

Spotted on pithhelmet's LJ. Since I haven't done a meme in nearly a year, I hope and trust that I'll be forgiven this one.

So, the rules:

"Go to Random Quotes: The Quotations Page and browse the random quotes until you find five that you think reflect who you are or what you believe. Repost and tag five friends (if you want)."

Note, please, that I did not do an exhaustive trawl through the site; I only went through three -- or was it four? -- pages of random quotes until I came up with the following, listed in the order in which I found them:

Man is the only animal that laughs and weeps, for he is the only animal that is struck with the difference between what things are and what they ought to be.

-- William Hazlitt (1778 - 1830)

'Tis an ill wind that blows no minds.

-- Malaclypse the Younger

It's so much easier to suggest solutions when you don't know too much about the problem.

-- Malcolm Forbes (1919 - 1990)

All progress is precarious, and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem.

-- Martin Luther King Jr. (1929 - 1968), Strength to Love, 1963

The truth is rarely pure and never simple.

-- Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900), The Importance of Being Earnest, 1895, Act I

EXTRA SPECIAL BONUS QUOTATION (which is out of order, but which still fell within the three or four pages I looked at):

If hunger makes you irritable, better eat and be pleasant.

-- Sefer Hasidim

I'm not tagging anybody 'cause that's just gauche (and way too Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy telethonish -- oh, sorry, am I repeating myself..?); and besides, nobody reads this any way, ha HA!

But vittles are pretty dang important; my kitties are in complete agreement with me on that, and they don't see eye to eye with me on most things.
