PJ, almost 15 months old, is acquiring quite a vocabulary.
Penelope pleasantly surprised me this morning, she signed 'cold' when the wipe hit her bottom-- I've been demonstrating that one off and on, but didn't really think she was noticing. I guess she was paying attention after all. :)
She also said 'bubbles' pretty clearly when she saw them in a dvd. I said 'plato' (plate) when she picked up the plate my toast was on and she signed 'plátano' (banana). I was confused until I realized that, yes, they do sound pretty close in Spanish.
Later, in her high chair she gave me the sign for 'bed' for the first time. We usually do put her down for a nap after breakfast and I guess she was telling me that she was, in fact, tired.
Watching my baby learn is fun!
This isn't linguistic, but darn cute: she kept messing with my hand when I was reading her her book and I couldn't figure out what she was doing, did she want to turn the page? Finally, she slip her hand into mine and kept it there until I closed my fingers around it. Turns out she just wanted me to hold her hand. Sweet.
