my eldest sis's wedding dinner testing
Well, the family and got back together and i just showered.. and I encounted something weird while bathing. In the midst of it i realise the water amount was getting lesser despite being at full blast. and the temperature kept going off to cold and returning to hot. Then I figure everyone seems to be in their toilets. (my sis's toilet is directly above mine). I guess what I encounted was the result of everyone trying to take their bath. haha.. quite a fun way to end the night. fighting for the heated water. the house has six toilets and i think it might be my first encountering 5 been used at the same time. interesting huh.
So... about the week. This has been a delightful week for me which includes a mixture of stress and joy.
Long weekend spent with chris for chill out on friday, there is family steamboat on sat, service and boardgames with cell, family lunch and house visiting to eldest sis's completed nest on monday. and staying up late for revision. Getting up early for revision. Drilling a report with group mates after a test paper. and another awesome news is that My very first ever personal laptop, MB is on its way! my sis says its tomorrow. but i shall just give it a waste case senario and set the mind to seeing it by friday. so ya.. that is what is been happening.
Okie the main topic. So the dinner was at the Marina Mandarin Hotel which was this great interior of mega levels of suites going way up high which really feels like luxury living. Not to mentioned the hot cars i saw at the car parks! Told my dad I will get him one in the future. =)
My parents, bro and I were slightly early. I took time to start reading through my notes for tomorrow's test. But couldnt resist exploring the lobby and took some photos using my bro's hp cam. So at 7pm... my second sis arrived from work, my eldest sis and her future in laws family reached as well.
Then its time to check ourselves for private dining into the aquarius room for the 9 course meal. The purpose of tonight's food testing is to critic the food and make adjustment to the selected menu. so the wedding couple was given this note pad file to write their ratings and comments.
The List. First up (i shall try my best to recall the actual dish description)
(1)lobster salad cold dish, maki sushi, seafood meat roll, some fried beancurd roll and abalone clams. couldnt really take photos as they were all serve in portions to us. I'll probably try taking on the actual night! though i'll probably be dashing around the asist the sis.
(2) Shark Fin Soup with shredded chicken and black mushroom, quite a decent portion of ingredients and the gravy was not starchy. so i like!
(3) Herbal Chicken, yummy yum.. serve hot and the meat peels off with slight force.
(4) Steam Groupa Fish in soya sauce - the most commented one. haha.. the adults say its overcooked. and i didnt like the sauce. so this is likely going to change. not great at all.
(5) Braised Duck in wrap (something like beijing duck) this one is yummmy!
(6) Pan Fried Prawn with oriental sance
(7) Seasonal vegetables with abalone
(8) Hokkien Mee Sua - is actually braised fried sort. tasty. and with generous amount of ingrediants.
(9) Mango Sago with Ice Cream - one word DELICIOUS!
A significant night for me... while I'm trying to read my notes between servings.. the endless discussion through the night for the wedding, just excites me to the max for the sister and both families. hee. I'm really happy and totally looking forward the joyious event,
this week is so glittery and joyful despite the weight of revision. I have to declare I got over my loooonnngest crush as well.. its been on off in poly year one and i realise its been half a year for this year. Its a good thing cos i believe thats the best for me and him, no need for distractions now. I have to stop the heart from messing the mind. all hail for the clear and sparkiest week of the year i had. and there is more to dot... previous sun i went to see a dance concert that just gave me a nice mood for the week. and this friday there is another from a diff friend. love ones really do just rock my world. chris been a dearie friend. and i saw lovely jas in sch! and celebrating xmas eve in ann's place! ending this year well. I feel soo bless.
