Stagnant in a river of rapids,
Restless in a world of calm,
Lonely in a sea of faces,
Heavy metal in a book of psalms.

Questions in a world of acceptance,
Numbness in a world of sense,
Action in a world of apathy,
Open in a world of defence.

Disowned amongst the chosen,
Aged amongst the youth,
Lost amongst the found ones,
Uncertainty amongst the “truth”

Going nowhere, finding nothing, no surprises, nothing new.
The world moves on, yet I remain…Stagnant.
