If you can renew your UK passport (ie it has < 9 months left to run), do it now.

Firstly, the cost is going up by 25% on 5th October.

Secondly, the renewal information is going directly onto the prototype ID card database from after this date. :-(

NB You can't put a '/' into your address on the web application form, even though it says you can.
