ok so i've been doing nothing today but cooking, eating, going online, and going online some more. that explains three (+?) posts today.
and reliably, i've checked out more brokeback mountain stuff on the interweb, and i came across something on the yahoo movie message boards about the film's oscar potential and yada yada yada, and someone commented on how it probably won't win any oscars, but crash will.
oh my fucking god. if crash even gets so much as nominated i think i'm going to vomit, force my fist down my throat and tear out my esophagus.
CRASH WAS NOT A GOOD MOVIE. it was extraneous and bombastic, overwhelmed by what it wanted to accomplish- expose racial relations in america- but it really did nothing beyond show us what we already know. sure, it was emotional. sure, i cried (movie trailers can make me cry) but it was kinda, well, "duh" for lack of a better word. pure pseudo-intellectual, "oh we have a brain", self-reassuring crap!
