Dark Horse Presents #11 - The Black Beetle: Night Shift Chapter 1 - A Francesco Francavilla story about some Nazis looking to steal a magical trinket from a museum and a pulpy hero called "Black Beetle" is poised to stop them. It's all setup, but feels like one of Mignola's Lobster Johnson stories. It's good so far.

Amala's Blade: Skull and Crossbows Chapter 3 - Amala fights the captain, kills him, and takes over his ship. It's a fun fight, but I'm sad the story is over. The fight with the pirates was entertaining, but the bigger world that is teased is much more interesting.

Finder: Third World Chapter 9 - Jaeger talks to the lady from the last chapter about being lost, then finds that there is a package waiting for him to deliver in what seems to be some sort of shanty town called "3rd World". Judging by the name of the series, this makes me think we're getting to the meat of the story.

Criminal Macabre: They Fight by Night Chapter 2 - While looking for the werewolf that killed the politician, out heroes fight off some vampires, seem to think that monsters are getting more bold in going out into the world, and they meet up with a human cop that seems to be in over his head. It's alright...

House of Fun Featuring Milk and Cheese - I still dislike Milk and Cheese. There are some 3 panel strips in the middle of this installment that completely failed to make me laugh.

The Occultist: Damned Can Dance Chapter 1 - A wizardy dude and a police detective work together to solve paranormal crime. He asks her on a date, but they get interrupted by a kidnapping. Turns out the baby was being kidnapped by a woman (demon) possessed, which leads them to a creepy basement with a dress made out of human skin. Mildly interesting setup with average art.

The Creep: Chapter 1 - A PI gets a letter from an old girlfriend asking for help. Her son committed suicide and she suspects something else is at play, especially since his friend committed suicide not much earlier. He leaves to help out. One thing I didn't get until the next issue is that he has a growth problem and has a massive body/face (the art is cartoony and I didn't think anything of it). It's little more than an introduction at this point.

Pig - A, frankly, kind of poorly written short story about a young punk kid and his overweight friend who he uses as a shield in a shootout and something about the various gangs claiming Pig's death as their own for some reason. Not even Darrow's art is that interesting.

Blood Chapter 8 - Blood's jumping the shark and getting really confusing and I'm not going to bother trying to figure it out. :/

The White Suits - This story follows a young courier delivering packages in Russia who gets caught up in some sort of crossfire and kills the last guy who hired her at the end. I don't know what the shootout was about or why she killed the guy, but I like the moody b&w art.
