As Therav was
summarizing the plan, Diziara fell in next to Pukey. "You were there when I explained this tactlessly to the fat flaming bastard on Zzyzx, so I'll get right to the point. I am holding you personally responsible for Spiegel getting out of here alive, since we're splitting the team apart. One elmer's glue spiked hair out of place on his

Therav's gaze looked back toward the people he'd left behind, momentarily, like a protective parent.
Each person had their forte. Without speaking to each other, Sharad and Diziara headed forward, ready to deal with the two guards in front of the door they were about to enter, while Therav turned facing out, at the ready with his phaser.
The guards were dealt with, and Therav turned to head into the room with Sharad and Diziara, all the while casting his glance back over his shoulder in both directions.
A sound of phaser fire... but not a Starfleet issue phaser.
Another shot.
"AUGH!"
The hoarse cry came from Therav himself. His hand momentarily went to his thigh, and he staggered toward the door with the group, but another shot caught him against the wall, and sent him toppling backwards and the phaser flying out of his hand. It landed several feet away from him. He collapsed against the wall and sank to the floor, leaving a glistening dark blue trail. Gritting his teeth, he leaned over, futilely trying to reach it.
"GO! Go on!" Therav hoarsely commanded to anyone in his team that looked back at him. He held a blood-slicked hand against his right shoulder. The phaser was finally in one shaking hand. He steadied his grip with his other hand, and now on the floor, still attempted to the rear watch.

When Diziara heard the non-fleet phaser, she tucked away her "Type 1" and whipped out the Klingon disruptor. From the cover of the door, she looked back to see what was going on just in time to see Therav get hit the first time. She attempted to return fire, but couldn't see who was making the shots due to the curve of the corridor.
When Therav gave to order to go on, she initially turned to do as directed, seeing Sharad already ready to move forth as long as she was still on his heels. She only made it two steps further before she halted and spun on heel.
"He may be a bastard, but I don't leave a man behind," she growled, almost as if she were spitting out something that disgusted her.
"He's buying us time so we can make our objective, he'll just slow us down like that," Sharad insisted, grabbing her by her arm. She yanked herself free and made it back to the door frame in time to see Therav's attacker come into view.
"I'll throw him over my shoulder, he's certainly light enough to not slow me down, though the blood may ruin the leather I'm wearing," she muttered. She paid little mind when Sharad tucked in behind her to watch also.
"It's like looking into a mirror, sweetling, isn't it?" A thaan who Diziara could only assume was Shrav, said to a zhen who followed behind. Diziara noticed that one of the thaan's antennae was in the process of regrowing, but that was the least of the differences between the two thaans. The pair kept smartly against the walls, and thus were out of Therav's line of fire.
"Shrav," Sharad helpfully commented, Diziara didn't bother to acknowledge his comment.
"He's more attractive than you," the zhen spat. Shrav chuckled.
"His Phelana is probably sweet and demure," came the return barb. Even without a clear shot, Therav opened fire again, probably tiring of the bickering of the two Andorians.
