Keeping It Up

Doctor Mib Khan, aboard Surak's Razor, beamed the bombs out of Starfleet HQ and into space, where they exploded harmlessly (and were assumed by many to be more of the Murgatroid's grandstanding). Of course, given the imprecise nature of the operation (Khan got the coordinates from Storvik, but sensors were blocked from scanning the sub-levels of the building), Khan had to beam out all matter in a four-foot radius around the specified coordinates, just to be safe. Unfortunately, since the bombs were all on or near supporting walls and pillars of the building, beaming out large pieces of those load-bearing members was still a dangerous thing to do.
The only reason why the building didn't collapse under its own weight immediately was that more than half of the building's weight was missing: the upper floors had been destroyed when Storvik and Lothar escaped; and almost all of the personnel had fled or beamed out of the building when the evacuation alarm was sounded. The building was still at risk of collapse, however, should a strong enough wind hit it...
Acting Captain Mib Khan, aboard the Murgatroid, beamed Ifix and his engineers to the site. Ifix, the Murgatroid's chief engineer, had volunteered to rig up a temporary Structural Integrity Field around the building, to hold it up while the repair crews resumed their work. At Ifix' request, once they'd left the ship Khan had the entire engineering deck cleaned and disinfected with high-pressure hoses, and dried out with exposure to hard vacuum.
Acting Captain Khan, who'd been trying to convince some staffers of Federation Council members of the veracity of his story, informed them of what the imposter Janeway had just attempted and the fugitives had prevented. He had already sent over some of the evidence he'd collected, and was trying to convince them to take Janeway into custody immediately, before she could escape, and to see her secret labs for themselves, before they were destroyed. If they didn't believe him, however, they were still more than welcome to go into the building's sub-levels to search for the two fugitives which Khan had just informed the staffers were there. "Either way," Khan said, "get some people over there now!"
