Happy Holidays!
I think there is something to be said for spending at least part of the winter season in a place where it actually looks like winter. Nice to be reminded that there is a cycle to life and that we are not in fact invincible. It sounds silly but I get the feeling that people in los Angeles, and elsewhere, where there are less noticeable seasonal changes are missing out on something.
The snow in Colorado is wonderful, light and soft. We had four inches of snow last night and it was still snowing in the morning when we got up to go skiing. My legs are killing me but I am quite proud of myself. Yesterday we did 4 black diamond runs and 3 double black diamonds. Today we went over to the backside of the mountain and did 4 steep double black runs right under that chairlift. Then we went easy and did some nice buffed runs until 2:30.
Last night a few of us got into an argument about the modern music scene. My father was saying that people now don't really have the same zeal about artist that he and his friends did when they were young. He said that when he was younger he could name his top artists and songs of that specific year. He challenged of few of us to make playlists of our top ten songs that came out this year. They have to be new songs, not covers or re-released songs.
The question interested me so I thought I would put it to all you good people.
What are your top ten songs that were released this year?
Edit: the ten a have picked this far: (suggestions welcome)
