Matsumoto Jun X Ninomiya Kazunari
Vol. 57 -  Interior no Arashi

After picking out furniture and accessories, they designed their own rooms. Each of their rooms, beaming with personal style, will now be unveiled!

Upon Aiba-kun’s request for Matsumoto-kun and Ninomiya-kun to talk about interior design, the two go to lease furniture and accessories of their choice. Using a black leather sofa as the base for his design, Matsumoto-kun then selected items like a clock and lamp to make up the other points of his room. On the other hand, Ninomiya-kun collected animal objects - everything from a rabbit to birds to even a tiger! Now for the report on the process of how these rooms came to be, including delight and bafflement (laugh) ♪

Despite having been together for such a long time, the members’ rooms are still a mystery to each other!

Matsumoto: The theme this time was interesting. For my design, I wanted to go with something comfortable and simple. First I brought in the sofa, then chose a clock to go along with it. Then I went with a direction based on the word “LONDON” written on the clock face and chose my smaller items from that (laugh). It seemed to become a space where you could enjoy your hobbies, like reading or photography.

Ninomiya: (While clapping) Well, as expected of J! To be able to create such a polished and unified room in such a short space of time!

Matsumoto: (Looks at Ninomiya-kun’s room; tries to hold back laughter) So, Nino, your concept was?

Ninomiya: (With serious face) I put a lot of thought into it this time. “Now, what is something that I don’t have in my own home?”, and then the answer came to me - “Nature”. Of course, not many people these days can very well have this many animals. So, in order to make the dreams of the modern person come true, I have created this!

Matsumoto: So you’ll spend most of your time… on that chair there?

Ninomiya: That’s right, since the tiger has the bed occupied. But it’s fine, since everyone is turned to listen to me, so we can all pass the time comfortably (laugh).

Matsumoto: Seriously, I do not get you! You’re making me look like an idiot for doing it seriously! (laugh)

Ninomiya: No, no! J’s sense was shining in that room! Does your actual room have a similar feeling?

Matsumoto: Well, some of the elements that make the room feel comfortable are similar, but overall it’s pretty much different. Mine is more themed around brown. I think the piece that I have the most attachment to is my beige sofa. When friends come over I wanted them to be able to all sit down, or sleep right there if they wanted to, so I chose a reasonably big one. My shelves that display things like photos and trinkets are also special to me.

Ninomiya: Ooh, cool! I’m not really fussy with interior design. I guess so long as my workspace where I spend a lot of time is set out efficiently, that’s enough.

Matsumoto: That’s true. Hm, if you think about it, though we’ve been together practically forever, the other members’ rooms…

Together: (At the same time) I have no idea!

Matsumoto: Well, we’re all guys, so I guess we’re just not so interested in that sort of thing (laugh). I’ve heard that Leader has a big map or poster something on his wall, and Aiba-chan has his exercise DVDs all lined up somewhere.

Ninomiya: Aah, they did say that!

Matsumoto: Sho-kun seems like he has a lot of things. Everything from clothes to documents to… candles (laugh).

Ninomiya: He’s probably made it into his own little personal space (laugh). I’m not the type to have a lot of things. If I start to get too much stuff, I invite over a friend to help so I can get rid of it quickly.

Matsumoto: It used to be hard for me, but now I try my best to try and get rid of stuff too. But then I always get distracted when I’m trying to clear stuff out. Even now I have a really messy corner in my room (wry smile).

Ninomiya: Oh, if you’d like, I can come over to your house next time and help you out? (grin)

Next: Ninomiya Kazunari X Ohno SatoshiThe next theme will be decided by MatsuJun!
“Since it’s the rainy season, how about doing a photo shoot in rain clothes? Personally I like clear days better, but the quiet rain can be comforting!”

The next theme is…
Rain no Arashi
