I wanted to post my biggest thoughts about Potter before reading other people's... So here goes!
I was right about Snape for the first time!
I totally ate up the Snape / Lily flashbacks.
Ron and Hermione yay.
I really hate James Potter, arrogant bastard.
I'm not cool with what happened to Lupin! At ALL!! Any of it!!!
As I've thought since Book 5

I was most upset about the deaths of Hedwig and Dobby. Something about innocent creatures, and how quick and unexpected the deaths were. I was really anticipating either Ron, Ginny, or Hermione dying in the end, but I guess she made up for not having one of the really primary characters die by instead bumping off several main characters. Which, you have to give her credit, is how war goes.
Ditto about Ginny, Neville, and Luna. Although that's another thing I really like about the way she tells her stories: the reader is just as in the dark as Harry. The whole period they're wandering around in the woods of England... anything could be happening in the world, and they wouldn't know.

Yeah, you're right about the whole Harry-centric thing being essential. Still, though. Neville and Luna rock. :)
When it came to deaths, I was most disappointed that we didn't hear something like how Lupin and Tonks took out like 10 death eaters before finally being defeated. I mean, they were highly skilled aurors. Surely there was some kind of story there... but again, as Harry didn't see or hear about it, neither did we. Oh well.
