[Mother's day...not a holiday that is established in his own world.  He's thankful, because that's one less reminder about what he's done.  He doesn't need an entire day, a holiday no less, to remind himself what he destroyed for himself and for his brother

It's to celebrate motherhood. They've done a lot for people, so why not let them have their pride in their families!?

I'm sure that people here love their moms and miss them a lot. So they're celebrating to remember their own world.

I suppose people are allowed to celebrate whatever holidays they wish. Even if they seem to be rather pointless.

I wouldn't exactly call it pointless. While I may not celebrate it, I'm sure the mother that works hard and gets very little recognition always enjoys that one day where she's recognized. As does the child.

She has been dead for many years.

I guess that's why I'm all right with people celebrating their moms on a day. Where would they be without them? You're welcomed to downplay the holiday but has she ever done anything remotely kind for you?

[ Though Rangiku would never show it, she remains slightly jealous over Itachi. Only the elite in the Seireitei have families, and the fact that she nearly starved for most of her life, then had to put up with Gin is pretty much not the best for family. One guy had one at some point of his life

Do you wish they were still alive today?

I do not regret anything that I have done.

Regret doesn't mean you miss them. Do you miss your family?

[ Rangiku can see that may not be the case because she's quite good at masking her own short comings and general depression that it's almost expert level of deception. ]
