[No video for you today, Johto, but there is some shuffling of feet, rustling of papers, and otherwise standard white-noise sounds of occupancy heralding you as this post first begins. There's also a light pitter-patter of padded paws across the carpet and, if one listens very closely, the faint trill of a particularly smug, self-important Espeon. ( Read more... )

I haven't been here long, but Agi seems to like being rather mischievous, if that counts?

I'm not sure if it's a question of what counts or not, really; presumably it could vary from Pokemon to Pokemon. Though it may be worth asking - in being mischievous, does your Agi tend to come up with antics that are almost startlingly human in nature?

She seems to enjoy hiding things, then feels guilty about it and brings them back around five minutes later. She's been rather helpful other than that though and seems to keep making sure I'm warm enough.

The guilt, I think, is the most interesting of the ones you've described; animals might hide things or show interest in their owners for any number of reasons, but guilt for a perceived wrong is a fairly human reaction. What sort of Pokemon is she?

Agi is a Vulpix. But yes, I don't even have to tell it's wrong, she seems to just get like this when I start looking for something.

Ah, I have one of those, myself. It's interesting that yours seems eager for your attention, though; mine tends toward the painfully shy, instead.

Oh, is that so? I'm not sure if it's because she's my starter though.

Most people, I'm told, tend to have a unique bond with their starters, so it's entirely possible that has something to do with it. Out of curiosity, would you say that you're particularly inclined toward foxes in some way?

It could be that, yes. Oh! Though there is a fox who helps us out at home. Do you think it's linked?

I'm told there's something of a trend regarding the starting Pokemon that people end up with. Apparently they tend to be unusually fitting for that particular person in one way or another almost across the board; it's rare to find a person for whom that isn't true in at least some way.

If that's true, then it's nice for them to at least give us some form of familiarity.

I'll admit, it's the first I've heard anyone describing our abductors' actions as a kindness of any variety. But that's one way of looking at it, it's true.

I'm sorry, in the course of our discussion, I've entirely neglected to introduce myself. Please accept my apologies -- I'm Yagyuu Hiroshi.

So far it doesn't seem like this world is trying to kill us, so it's a one up from things that have happened in my world. It's wrong, yes, but it could be worse.

Oh! I seem to have forgotten too. Yukiko Amagi, it's a pleasure to meet you Yagyuu-kun.

Amagi-san, the pleasure is all mine. And it sounds like you lead a remarkably dangerous life, if that's the perspective you've chosen to take on this world. Though it's refreshingly optimistic to hear, believe me.

It was at least, but the danger had passed by the time I came here. Well, my friends are here, so that gives me something to be optimistic about, I suppose.

Ah, you have friends here? I'm glad to hear that. Settling in is considerably easier with a network of support, particularly for a new arrival.
