[After a loooong journey from Union Cave to Violet in the horrendous snow Ciel is glad to finally be in doors. He and Sebastian have been to the Pokémon Center to drop off their Pokémon for recovery and he'd just had a nice warm bath

[ Sebastian actually stands in the doorway for a moment before adopting a carefully casual stance, leaning against the frame with his arms folded. He masks his distaste with amusement. ]

I see you've made a new friend, young master. It's good to see a smile on your face.

[The smile disappears rather quickly as he looks at his butler, but then reappears with a hint of maliciousness.]

Come say hi Sebastian.

[He ruffles Growlithe's fur.] You know I used to have a dog named Sebastian, perhaps I should name this thing here that...

[ Sebastian's gaze darkens, but his smile remains, frozen now. Cagey, he debates his next answer, and eventually settles on one that might appease Ciel enough to prevent him from actually naming that atrocious beast 'Sebastian.' ]

... Ah, but it wouldn't do to have two dogs named Sebastian, now, would it?

[He looks thoughtfully down at Growlithe.]

You do make a good point.

[He picks up the Pokédex after a second pointing it at the pup. The cheerful monotonous voice trills off facts about Growlithe's in general before showing him the stats of this specific one.]

[ He relaxes a little. One crisis averted. He just hopes Ciel doesn't propose 'Sebastienne,' as a means of getting back at him for Ellie's name.

After a beat of silence, he says, clearly amused: ]

Well, if she turns out to be clumsy, you could name her Maylene. If she kisses you again, however, I think you'll have to name her Elizabeth.

[He makes a face at the mention of the girls in his life back home, his clumsy maid and his clingy fiance.]

Perhaps she doesn't need a nickname. I suppose we'll see.

Lithe! [Growlithe hops out of Ciels lap and bounds over to Sebastian. Standing on her hind legs she stetches her paws up his legs, wagging her tail. Hi, hi, hi, hi!

Ciel just looks amused.]

I think you made a new friend Sebastian. You know, you really have a way with dogs.

[ Sebastian tenses, shooting a venomous look down at the mongrel and trying his level best not to kick her in the face. He decidedly does not unfold his arms. ]

It would seem that puppies of all kinds are drawn to me. Even you seem fond of me, little watchdog. [ This time, the poisonous glare is aimed at Ciel. ]

[His eyebrow shoots up at the jab. He's torn briefly between denying anything such 'fondness' for the butler or continuing to make fun of him. He decides on the latter.]

Be nice to her Sebastian, she's just a newborn after all. And you are so good at taking care of us children.

Grr grrrroooww lithe! [Growlithe paws at Sebastian. He's not paying her any attention. Does he not like her? But, but, she's giving him the biggest most adorable eyes.]

[ Distastefully, Sebastian finally unfolds his arms to pat the dog on the head. If she licks him, it's game over, and he'll have no remorse. ]

I'm more a fan of purebreds than filthy mongrels. [ Her fur is soft, though. ]
