Simple. We don't have anything called "chess" on my world. I'm going to guess that it's some kind of game or match, like Pai Sho, or a duel, like an Agni Kai.

Painfully obvious. No one ever knows what the heck is going on when they first get here.

[Katara takes one of her Pokeballs from her belt and expands it to full size, then hits the button and points it (and directs the camera) next to her. Ponyta emerges from the translucent light.]

See that? This is my Ponyta, Jet. It's the same as yours.

[Jet comes closer and Katara reaches out, petting it's neck-- flame and all.]

It varies. I didn't name all of mine, and one of them that used to belong to someone else already has a name too. They already have a species name, though. Jet is just the nickname I use for this guy. [For sentimental reasons.]
