I Change my Icons Too Much

But hopefully this will be the last time for a while. ^^;

And this week was rather good, actually.... except I overslept and missed the appointment I had with my English prof. to go over the rough draft for the paper due tomorrow - and since it was Wednesday and I guess she was heading out to see family, she had to leave at noon and therefore there were no other times that day I could have done it... stupid stupid stupid! Why did I even sign up for a 10:40 appointment anyway?!

So I was on my own for the final copy... which I have to present tomorrow. And I used a source that I don't exactly know how to cite and I'm hoping she'll help me with that before I turn it in (she said she'd extend the due date for the paper itself so I can turn it in "by the end of the day" after giving me some last few hints before or after my presentation, so I figure I'll ask her then).

Beyond that though, the Thanksgiving break was rather relaxing, considering Dad left again on Monday night... and interesting, to say the least.

But then this Turkey Day both he and my mom were working. So for the first half I just accepted the fact that the most we'll be doing this Thanksgiving is eating a pumpkin pie together when Mom gets home in the evening. ... That is, until I called and talked to Rae. Her parents heard that my parents were working and invited my brother and I over for Thanksgiving dinner, so that's what I ended up doing (the brother declined and just kept playing Black Ops the rest of the day).

And boy, was that an experience.
For one, Rae's grandma makes awesome stuffing - and jello, for that matter. Jello that the siblings will have contests to see who can slurp a certain amount off of a plate the fastest. With whipped cream on top XD; the parents even got into it, too, and to say the least, I think Rae's sister gets her epic jello-slurping skills from her dad - they both had it down in like an instant. And the food overall was really good, and there were plenty of leftovers to take home to my mom and brother.

Friday, however, was spent hanging out at home and playing SS - I have now had my butt whooped by the Elite Four twice now on that game. But I will charge back in there with a new strategy and a party of level 50 Poke'mon! >:D (and yes, I realize I should've done that in the first place... but I got all the way up to Lance the first time around! It was his darn Dragonite that was kicking my butt)... but that's a battle for after finals.

Saturday afternoon was spent at Rae's house again, drawing and working on my PowerPoint for presenting the paper mentioned earlier; and today I missed church... again. Not intentionally though - my ride had a service project to do that morning that she forgot to tell me about last night when I asked her if she could take me. I seriously need a driver's license...

But I did have some kind of spiritual nourishment today - through my regular scripture study and the fact that my Home Teachers and Visiting Teachers came over one right after the other. ^^; and I actually found and read some of my great-great-great grandfather's memoirs today too. There was actually some interesting stuff in there, and I know a little bit of my lineage on that side now... and it feels a bit... I don't know how to put my finger on it, odd about reading about historical events (namely the Civil War era) from the viewpoint of someone who actually was related to me.

So yeah, that's my week in a nutshell (again). I really need to try and post more often than once a week... I have trouble recalling everything that happened over a week when I do these posts every Sunday.
